The places music can take you

As someone who soothes her soul with music, I find it absolutely amazing the places music can take you. From the comfort of your home to the ends of the earth, to the ever increasing imagination of your mind, music is always there. Every genre has its own take on life and for me, what I listen to is dependent on my mood. I do more than just listen to it, but I feel it. I feel the happiness, the sadness, the love and hate. There is nothing like feeling the musician bare their soul and leaving it out for anyone to grab hold of it along with them.

As I grew older, I needed to figure out how to bare my soul as musicians did. I have always had a great respect for song writing and poetry. In my first post I mentioned how this poetry came to me one day. After that day I could not keep my mind from figuring out how to write another one. Do I do another Beatles poem, or do I choose another favorite artist. There are so many to choose from. So I decided to go with another favorite group of mine, Queen. Freddy Mercury was absolutely magical! Talk about leaving it all out on the stage for his fans to grab hold of…I only wish that I could have experienced that magic first hand! So as I sat and decided that my love of his music was what was grabbing hold of me at that moment, this is what I came up with…

Crazy Little Thing Called Love

IT’S A HARD LIFE, but

I’m DOING ALL RIGHT.

With a small MIRACLE

I HANG ON IN THERE.

YOU’RE MY BEST FRIEND and

There’s NO ONE BUT YOU, cause

You’re THE HERO in my life.

I don’t need SOMEBODY TO LOVE

I WAS BORN TO LOVE YOU,

So DON’T STOP ME NOW

Cause MY BABY LOVES ME.

THESE ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES!

So all I can say is that

it’s FUNNY HOW LOVE IS.

Like A KIND OF MAGIC

that lasts FOREVER.

New adventure…

My father has always said “everyday is a new adventure”, so today I start my new adventure! I have always loved writing from the time I was a small girl. My love for creativity has started to evolve into music poems as of late. I want to preface this by mentioning that music is and always has been extremely important in my life. It’s been a soul soothing outlet for me. To hear a fellow artist express feelings in a musical format amazes me. So, I decided to create my outlet for my feelings with the help of my favorite musical talents. It came to me one day as I sat alone, at my work desk, on what turned out to be a very inspiring day!

As I sat at my desk and watched the clock, it seemed as if time was at a stand still. I decided to go online to research information on my favorite ‘go to’ band, The Beatles. I came across a listing of every song they had recorded. Now, I have heard their music countless times throughout my lifetime and know the words to most of it, but I was surprised at how I had never paid attention to the majority of their song titles. I am not sure why I never paid attention to them, but as I read through the list I had a creative urge to write down any title that stuck with me.

Fast forward to later that night and I had finished the first draft of my new creation. I re-wrote and edited the titles constantly until I finally ending up with a poem written with their song titles.

I present to you my first work!!

A day in the life

Help! Eleanor Rigby, It’s been a Hard day’s night.

I carry that weight, but now Here comes the sun.

Across the universe We come together, because,

Dear Prudence, All you need is love.

Do you want to know a secret? From me to you,

If I needed someone, I call your name.

Come together, Because I’ve got a feeling.

Don’t pass me by, We can work it out.

Good morning, Good morning. Hold me tight.

Everything is getting better In my life.

Julia, I should have known better

I’ve just seen a face, It’s Anna in Chains.

So Cry baby cry, because there’s a Devil in her heart.

With Lucy In the sky with diamonds and

Maggie Mae on a Yellow submarine

Nowhere man is in the Octopus’s garden and

Mean Mr. Mustard is Here, there and everywhere.

Please Mister postman, It won’t be long,

I want to tell you, Run for your life because

Helter Skelter is Back in the USSR.

Let it be, cause I’m so tired. I me mine. Hello! Goodbye!

Everybody’s got something to hide except me and my monkey.

I see The long and winding road, so Think for yourself because

Tomorrow never knows the Things we said today.

The End

This is just the beginning for me. I can’t wait to share and evolve.
